Royal Rumble 2008 Winner - John Cena

I must say that it has been a while since I saw a WWE pay per view that would make me happy. The Royal Rumble 2008 did and not because of the matches but because of the Royal Rumble itself. It was a pretty good Rumble, with a tremendous amount of stars and wrestlers that did make a name for themselves in the industry. I must say the Jimmy Snuka, Roddy Piper moment was interesting although not really spectacle in terms of wrestling. Then number 29, this is where it all started to be really interesting. Triple H comes out and I thought we were going to see a Triple H vs Batista as the final two, although The Undertaker is one of my favorites and I would have loved to see him win it again. Then, number 30, a little suspense and John Cena's entrance theme starts. I was like WTF? Everybody was expecting a John Cena appearance and him to be back in action at Wrestlemania. I mean the guy had a big injury and to be back in action so fast would be a tremendous achievement. I got over the moment and thought that he was going to get out quickly, just making an appearance. Well, it was not like that and the final three men were John Cena, Batista and Triple H. Triple H eliminated Batista and then John Cena eliminated Triple H. So the 2008 Royal Rumble winner is John Cena.

Now love him or hate him, it is true that John Cena is not that much of a wrestler but his intensity and capacity do make a show and make the fans get on their feet is respectable. This guy is a great entertainer and we saw that at the Royal Rumble as well. So John Cena is back in action from a torn pectoral muscle injury and he will headline Wrestlemania against a champion of his choosing. One thing that I think I noticed was that the crowd kind of wanted Triple H to win it and it did seem that he had a lot more crowd heat behind him. But on the other hand, it's the show that counts! John Cena will probably go for Edge or Randy Orton for the title, as ECW is too small for him. I do think he should be on RAW and go against Edge but, then again, Randy Orton should lose his title in my view, not a great champion, not that entertaining for me. We will have to see what happens next. But here we have it, John Cena, the surprise of the year so far for the WWE, the 2008 Royal Rumble Winner.

PS: We also saw some other interesting matches, Randy Orton defeated Jeff Hardy (As expected), JBL defeated Chris Jericho by disqualification (not really expected but Chris Jericho took it to another level - the future might be a no DQ at Wrestlemania), Edge defeats Rey Mysterio (as expected but after Vickie Guerrero got in the way and not the Edgeheads as we thought) and Ric Flair defeated MVP (As expected). Oh, did I mention John Cena won the Royal Rumble?

She is definitely one of the hottest and most popular female wrestlers in the world at the moment and her popularity is constantly rising. We just got to see a short video of her, thought you might enjoy it. Christy Hemme was supposed to do a photo shoot. First some sexy pictures, then some rock pictures in a bar and then Christy Hemme on a beautiful custom made chopper. Short video but pretty nice. Enjoy!

Update on Hulk Hogan's Divorce

Everybody has been asking why Linda Bollea (also known as Hogan) filed for divorce and it does seem that Hulk was also surprised when hearing about it. According to the Tampa Tribune newspaper, she is currently accusing her husband of what was labeled as "legal shenanigans". Linda Hogan claims that Hulk Hogan tried to get her to sign a post-nuptial agreement and he is hiding $10 million USD obtained from a real estate transaction that was made in 2007.

Linda has asked Hogan's assets to be frozen and this includes everything. She also wants to get temporary injunction in this emergency motion filing. Her story is that Hulk took her to Les Barnett, a Tampa lawyer, saying that they will do real estate planning. It seems that the two presented her with a post-nuptial agreement instead of real estate deals. This incident led to her filing for divorce against Hulk Hogan. To make matters even more interesting, Linda Hogan took out $1.5 million out of a joint bank account when she noticed that her husband had "suspicious behavior" last year. The money was put into a limited liability corporation and the only individual that can access the funds is...are you ready? Eric Bischoff! This gets weirder by the day!

TNA Knockout Traci Brooks

Lately I must say that I have a little crush on Traci Brooks, also known as Ms. Brooks. We all know she is employed by TNA and I just a couple of days realized, when I took a look at some YouTube videos, how beautiful Ms Brooks really is. I mean, she is a really beautiful woman. I am a little disturbed to see the bra that pushes up her breasts like that but hey, she is lovely still. I did a little research on her and I found out that her name is Tracy Brookshaw and she was born on May 22, 1980. That means she is currently 27 and that is just 5 years older than I am.

Traci Brooks grew up on a chicken and pig farm in St. Marys, Ontario and the year 2000 saw her winning the Toronto Millennium Calendar contest. This brought her the title of Miss June 2000 and then Brookshaw engaged in modeling. Her early wrestling career saw her trained by Ron Hutchinson in March 2000 and January 2001 saw her debut as Tracy Brooks. What few people know is that Brooks appeared in a lot of independent promotions, which includes Border City Wrestling and Apocalypse Wrestling Federation. In AWF she had a feud with La Felina (currently Gail Kim in TNA) and she became the AWF heavyweight champion. Even now Traci Brooks still works for independent promotions while also being on the roster of TNA.

Now her angle in TNA changed in the past years and this last one, manager of Robert Roode is not really one to my tastes. Ms Brooks should be in the ring as she is very capable when it comes to wrestling. Her finisher and signature moves include the Done Deal (a reverse DDT), the Pie in the Sky (a flipping seated senton), DDT, Brooks and Done (a Lariat), a kneeling facebuster of the middle rope, gutwrench suplex and the tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown. In any case, I have a feeling we will see more of Ms. Brooks in the ring from now on in TNA!

Bobby Lashley Released from the WWE

This piece of news really came unexpected. According to Bobby Lashley's official website he is no longer affiliated with WWE. He made an official forum post stating that:
I am sorry to everyone here but I am serious when I say I won't be back. Everyone wants to come here and hear the real story and I am telling you the real story. Circumstances which are out of my control left me no decision but to leave the WWE. I can't go into details of this now but like I said before sometimes people will hate you personally and try to destroy you which has happened here. Evil has prevailed however like I said before if you continue your struggle doors will open around these people. You have not scene the last of me so please don't stop your support. Add Bobby Lashley to the list of RECENTLY RELEASED!
This is a bit of a shock as Lashley was really popular for the fans of WWE and it is a big loss for the company in my view. It will be interesting to see what happens as the official news is that Bobby Lashley is still injured and I don't think he will have a place in TNA! We hope we will see some more of this athletic wrestler for his size!

Big Show is BACK - Slimer than Ever

It has now been confirmed that The Big Show has signed a contract with the WWE and he will soon come back in the ring according to a source that is close to the Big Show. It seems that everything is arranged and the paperwork was completed while the Big Show is back on the WWE roster. We can expect the wrestler to re-appear soon although we might not get to see the same Big Show as before.

Ever since he left the WWE he has been training and trying to see if he can get in a boxing career. This immediately brought up weight loss and he was sighted at some events and fans said that he indeed lost a lot of weight! There were also rumors that Kurt Angle was supporting the idea of getting the Big Show in TNA, where he would have received the longest winning streak till now but it looks like the wrestler decided to go for the same company, the WWE. It will be very interesting to see him back in the squared ring, especially if he did lose a lot of weight as reported.

WWE Backstage - Triple H Problems

Triple H is a very popular professional wrestler and we all realize that he does have a lot of friends in the WWE. The real problem stands in the fact that a lot of the wrestlers think that Triple H is using political power in order to hold people back when he ends up thinking that they are a threat to him. According to rumors, John Cena is one of the few individuals that Triple H did not try to stop in the popularity rising factor. Hunter seems to be even less liked than before his injury.

In the past Triple H was seen as a major factor of Booker T leaving for TNA. This was because he was thinking that a competitive match with Booker could not exist because he just did matches with Jerry Lawler, who is 58 years old. Booker T was very popular backstage and he had been in talks with TNA even before SummerSlam and it is logical that his suspension immediately made him want to switch sides. Triple H also made some comments on Chris Jericho's return that were not popular among the locker-room.

Rumors also have it that the only one that actually stands up to Triple H and Shawn Michaels is Randy Orton. This kind of makes him a leader backstage although The Game can not be touched in the WWE and everybody knows that.

Ron "The Truth" Killings Facts

Better known as Ron “The Truth” Killings, the American pro wrestler was born on January 19, 1972. He is also known as a rapper that had a thing for break-dancing.

He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina struggling financially because of the fact that his parents were underpaid and sometimes not even being employed. This situation motivated Ron to make something of his life and used his energy in track running and football. Offers of scholarships were given to him but because of his affinity to music; he turned them down and even left school when he was 16 years old. Meeting rappers like 2Pac and Easy-E was a great factor in his decision to become a musician. This carrier needed money – a lot in fact – so he turned to drug dealing as an income for three years; this gave him enough capital to pay a recording studio for his debut album. Unfortunately his source of cash led him to 13 months in jail but on a bigger picture helped him realize he needed a normal job.

After going to some wrestling matches, he realized that his physical abilities can give him the legitimate job he needed and this kind of life incited him, too. He debuted in NWA Wild side as K-Krush and he made a statement there being awarded not later with the newly-created NWA Wild side Television Championship. He continued his carrier with an aggressive manner that brought him the nickname of Killings; this also helped him along with ambition to win titles and recognition of his value.

Killings teamed up with James Storm to beat Frank Wycheck and Jerry Lynn at TNA Slammiversary 2007, pointing out that now he is a heel. Later this year he resigned from TNA but was not able to go free because they wouldn’t let him go. The latest news about Ron Killings is that he didn’t show up at the New Japan event, a world cross promoting TNA/NJPW. It seems that this is the last drop for the company and the wrestler could get his wish and be apart from TNA. However until an official statement will be made, the wrestler is still stuck with them, whether he likes it or not.

Wrestler of the Year 2007: John Cena

Like him or hate him, according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated the wrestler of the year 2007 is WWE's John Cena. Even if his injury is one that does keep him away from the ring a long time, it seems that he has still done enough to make it to the top of the list. In case you want to know, the one that came second is also a professional wrestler in the WWE, Edge. The best wrestler in TNA was of course Kurt Angle, but he was only fourth in the official top of 2007. Also, just in case you are wondering, John Cena is expected to make his return in the ring around Wrestlemania and if he succeeds he will probably go directly after the title, just like Chris Jericho did in his return against Randy Orton. It will be interesting to see whether the WWE will put him as a winner when he goes back for the championship or not. Also, we need to see if he will still be fit but knowing Cena's determination, he will probably be better than ever.

Mickie James Facts

Born on August 31, 1979, Mickie Laree James is one of the most interesting wrestlers nowadays. Female wrestling is appreciated in a different way than the ordinary type because women were considered either fragile beings that shouldn’t get hurt, or just as sex objects and the sport in consequence is a sexual parade for men. It’s the pro wrestlers that make it real and get fans’ attention. She is great because besides working hard for her passion she still didn’t become a big muscle monster like others are.

She started with the name Alexis Laree in 1999, training very much to be part of the TNA. When that moment came she got the nation’s attention and fans were getting more and more many. She has become the first woman to take part at the Clockwork Orange House of Fun matches. Mickie also managed to win the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania22 and kept it for herself 3 times in her career.

The beautiful wrestler managed her professional and personal aspects in life so that the young girl grown up on a farm is interested in Arts and is now studying to receive the Bachelor of Arts degree. As a child she loved horses and she rode them a lot; now she owns three Morgan horses.
James started to be part of the WWE in October 10, 2005 and her character was given a love story hatching from her admiring the WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus. James character was given the opportunity to be in a match with Stratus and so the obsession for the Champion grew stronger. The scenario included James dressing up as Stratus at a Halloween Costume Contest and then using her finishing signature move in some matches. In this time James did not forget about her ambition and her goals and so she became the number one contender for the Women’s title and so she was given the opportunity to be face to face with Stratus at New Year’s Revolution.

Time gave the two wrestlers a development in a lesbian image more than a relationship between a star and her fan. The kiss James gave Stratus was the spark that lit the fire between them in this scenario and the fans loved it. The one who didn’t like this situation was Stratus who decided to ask for a break from Mickie.

Elijah Burke Facts

Born on May 24, 1978 Burke was an officer in Florida before he decided to put his abilities into professional wrestling use. He started as an amateur boxer in Jacksonville's Club 5 and Club Plush where some say he had a 98-1 win/loss record. According to WWE, his only loss in his amateur career was because he refused to go to his corner after KOing his opponent. Burke is more used to KOs and showing that he has really defeated his opponent than winning by points; before each match he writes “4-UP” on his wrist tape, meaning “four knuckles upside your head".

After having signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Elijah Burke won the Heavyweight Title that brought him an interesting offer from the WWE Creative Team – a spot in the Spirit Squad, which he turned down though. He stayed in Ohio for some time, training for what he was really interested: joining Smack Down! on July, 2006. Here he developed a mixed martial arts with wrestling skills technique. He was debuting along with the former MMA fighter Sylvester Terkay. In his first WWE match, Elijah defeated Scott Wright and then broke Vito’s four month winning series on Smack Down. He was assisted by Terkay who helped him and his glory to be heard all over.

Since January, 2007 when Elijah left the WWE, his matches were only about him leaving Terkay behind him. This change did not necessarily mean a decline of career! He became the official leader of the “New Breed” – the new ECW stars group that included Matt Striker, Marcus Cor Von and Kevin Thorn.

On July 10, Burke was named ECW Championship’s number 1 contender. After a long dispute with CM Punk, he went to face him at the Unforgiven pay-per-view. The match did not end well for Burke because CM Punk did defeat him, and the worst part is that it is suspected it wasn’t a clean fight. The dispute between these two continued in the chase for the No Mercy, 2007 title.
In his career until now, Burke has proven that he can fight with another man in the ring with him and coordinate his moves and also being by himself did not bring him down. His ambition and desire to become the best of the best has made other fighters better, drawn to this energy. I have a feeling we will hear of Elijah Burke in the future, he is still young in professional wrestling!
