WWE Wrestlers Workout

This here is a very interesting video that shows some wrestlers training. All are from the WWE but you will enjoy looking at the clip. You can see a lot of Triple H working out in the gym, Randy Orton in the gym, John Cena training, Shawn Michaels working on his abs and doing some unique exercises. Most of the video shows Triple H working out but hey, we have a lot to see in Hunter, or Paul, or however you want to call this man. Triple H's workout is always intense and that is reality. In fact, all good professional wrestlers have very hard workouts and we should all respect that.

My View on WWE Judgement Day 2008

Well, Judgement Day 2008 was not really that impressive on the whole and I have not been impressed by most things. First off we had a JBL vs John Cena match, one that started very slow. JBL started working on Cena's shoulder, Cena missing a flying move from the turnbuckle and basically a big domination on the part of JBL. Then, when John Cena seemed to be out of it we saw the F U and everything was over. Quite a long and boring match, definitely one that should not have been the first one in the pay per view. Then we got to see a match for the tag team titles between John Morrison and The Miz and the team of the ECW Champion Kane and CM Punk. We did see some nice moves by CM Punk, a Chokeslam by Kane on The Miz on the outside and then John Morrison with a finisher on Punk for the win. Again, not a special math whatsoever.

Then we got to see the match between Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels. Now this match did live up to the hype and it has quite an interesting storyline around it, with HBK faking injury to win against Batista. The entire match was action packed and I must say that it was totally enjoyable. Every wrestler pulled out their signature moves and Shawn Michaels won the match with a roll up as Jericho was going for the Walls of Jericho. Thumbs up for this match!

We also saw the women's title defended by Mickie James in what was quite a decent match but not as special as the matches we get to see more and more often in TNA. Now Mickie did put in great moves and Beth Phoenix did lift both of the opponents (Melina and Mickie James) on just one shoulder, showing a lot of strength although the end was a simple jumping DDT on Melina. Not a great match but one that was better than many women's wrestling matches I saw in the WWE.

Now the next match was the one I was waiting for as the Undertaker faced Edge for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship title. I must say that this storyline was great and still is great, probably the best one that I have seen in a while with the WWE. I am still disgusted by the fact that Vickie Guerrero is playing the role of Edge's girlfriend but still, this does sit well with the entire storyline. The match was great between the two wrestlers and the end saw the Undertaker win via count out. Then we got to see a twist in the story as there was no pin or submission so Vickie Guerrero stated that the title is still vacant. Then there was a tombstone on Edge just as The Undertaker was pissed. Can't wait to see how this rivalry continues.

Next we saw an unexpected match with MVP issuing a challenge and Matt Hardy accepting it on behalf of Jeff Hardy. Cute little match that was won with the Whisper in the Wind by Hardy although MVP kind of dominated most of the match.

The main event was Triple H versus Randy Orton for the WWE title. The match was pretty good but nothing really special. You had the feeling of hate between the wrestlers and that is always nice. Triple H did a figure 4 leg lock and then some chair shots. Not a great match although it is good to continue the feud, which will lead towards a Last Man Standing match at One Night Stand. That match should be more interesting. On the whole, it was not as special as I had hoped. The Undertaker's match and Jericho's were enjoyable but the rest were kind of boring in my view.

Jeff Hardy's return date announced

I don't really know if this was planned or not by the WWE (in the sense of leaking a return date for the wrestler) but Jeff Hardy is currently scheduled to wrestle on the RAW house show in Las Cruces, New Mexico, which will take place on the 20th of June. Jeff Hardy was suspended on March 11st for 60 days due to violating the Wellness Policy of the WWE for the second time. The house show will also see John Cena fighting Randy Orton for the WWE Championship (you know what that means), DX versus Umaga and Snitsky, Jeff Hardy versus Lance Cade, Mr. Kennedy versus Chris Jericho (for the Intercontinental Title) and Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes versus Santino Marella and Carlito (for the World Tag Team Championship).

Wrestlemania 24 - 2008 Facts

Wrestlemania 24 does seem to shape up as a huge wrestling event. It is currently the grand stage of all wrestling events around the world. Wrestlemania 24 will happen on March 30 at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, with a seated capacity of 70,000 places. At the moment we have around 100 people that are working 16 hours daily in order to build the Wresltemania set and this will also bring in the largest pyrotechnics display in the history of professional wrestling. To make it even more special, we will see a new steel roof that is being constructed above the ring in order to protect all wrestlers (and hopefully spectators) from rain. This steel roof will also be the set used to hang lights and even a massive video board. We will also see a new wrestling structure built on the North End of the stadium and this is where the entrance ramp will be set up for the wrestler's entrance. WWE wants to end building the entire structure by March 29 in order to make rehearsals for the various technical parts of the show.

What is interesting is that after the show will be over we will need to wait for around 4 days until the entire structure will be pulled down. Then the WWE will immediately start planning for Wrestlemania 25 and various cities are interested in hosting the wrestling show in the future. Orlando is already pushing to host it in around 2012 again and Phoenix wants to host Wrestlemania in 2010. Wrestlemania 25 will be held in Houston, Texas.

The matches for Wrestlemania 24 are also going to be quite interesting. We have a triple threat match for the WWE Championship that features John Cena, Triple H and the current WWE Champion, Randy Orton. Then the undefeated at Wrestlemania Undertaker takes on the Rated R Superstar Edge for the World Heavyweight title. The entertainment match of Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. Big Show (this should be interesting). A Career Threatening Match for Ric Flair as he takes on Shawn Michaels. The Smackdown vs Raw match will see Batista taking on Umaga. We also have a Belfast Brawl match between Finlay and JBL (I sincerely hope Finlay will win it - he is hard working and should get a win at Wrestlemania). There will also be a match that I will not be watching: BunnyMania Lumberjack Match featuring Candice & Maria vs. The Glamazon & Melina. We also have the Money in the Bank match of course, one that is so far filled with controversy due to Jeff Hardy's suspension. I don't think we will see Jeff in it and we will probably have to see a Money in the Bank Match at Wrestlemania 24 that features: John Morrison, CM Punk, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, MVP, Chris Jericho (the man that won the Intercontinental title from Hardy and qualified for the match by defeating the same Jeff Hardy) and Mr. Kennedy. Two champs (US and Intercontinental) are put in this Money in the Bank - it should be a huge match.

Royal Rumble 2008 Winner - John Cena

I must say that it has been a while since I saw a WWE pay per view that would make me happy. The Royal Rumble 2008 did and not because of the matches but because of the Royal Rumble itself. It was a pretty good Rumble, with a tremendous amount of stars and wrestlers that did make a name for themselves in the industry. I must say the Jimmy Snuka, Roddy Piper moment was interesting although not really spectacle in terms of wrestling. Then number 29, this is where it all started to be really interesting. Triple H comes out and I thought we were going to see a Triple H vs Batista as the final two, although The Undertaker is one of my favorites and I would have loved to see him win it again. Then, number 30, a little suspense and John Cena's entrance theme starts. I was like WTF? Everybody was expecting a John Cena appearance and him to be back in action at Wrestlemania. I mean the guy had a big injury and to be back in action so fast would be a tremendous achievement. I got over the moment and thought that he was going to get out quickly, just making an appearance. Well, it was not like that and the final three men were John Cena, Batista and Triple H. Triple H eliminated Batista and then John Cena eliminated Triple H. So the 2008 Royal Rumble winner is John Cena.

Now love him or hate him, it is true that John Cena is not that much of a wrestler but his intensity and capacity do make a show and make the fans get on their feet is respectable. This guy is a great entertainer and we saw that at the Royal Rumble as well. So John Cena is back in action from a torn pectoral muscle injury and he will headline Wrestlemania against a champion of his choosing. One thing that I think I noticed was that the crowd kind of wanted Triple H to win it and it did seem that he had a lot more crowd heat behind him. But on the other hand, it's the show that counts! John Cena will probably go for Edge or Randy Orton for the title, as ECW is too small for him. I do think he should be on RAW and go against Edge but, then again, Randy Orton should lose his title in my view, not a great champion, not that entertaining for me. We will have to see what happens next. But here we have it, John Cena, the surprise of the year so far for the WWE, the 2008 Royal Rumble Winner.

PS: We also saw some other interesting matches, Randy Orton defeated Jeff Hardy (As expected), JBL defeated Chris Jericho by disqualification (not really expected but Chris Jericho took it to another level - the future might be a no DQ at Wrestlemania), Edge defeats Rey Mysterio (as expected but after Vickie Guerrero got in the way and not the Edgeheads as we thought) and Ric Flair defeated MVP (As expected). Oh, did I mention John Cena won the Royal Rumble?

WWE Backstage - Triple H Problems

Triple H is a very popular professional wrestler and we all realize that he does have a lot of friends in the WWE. The real problem stands in the fact that a lot of the wrestlers think that Triple H is using political power in order to hold people back when he ends up thinking that they are a threat to him. According to rumors, John Cena is one of the few individuals that Triple H did not try to stop in the popularity rising factor. Hunter seems to be even less liked than before his injury.

In the past Triple H was seen as a major factor of Booker T leaving for TNA. This was because he was thinking that a competitive match with Booker could not exist because he just did matches with Jerry Lawler, who is 58 years old. Booker T was very popular backstage and he had been in talks with TNA even before SummerSlam and it is logical that his suspension immediately made him want to switch sides. Triple H also made some comments on Chris Jericho's return that were not popular among the locker-room.

Rumors also have it that the only one that actually stands up to Triple H and Shawn Michaels is Randy Orton. This kind of makes him a leader backstage although The Game can not be touched in the WWE and everybody knows that.

Wrestler of the Year 2007: John Cena

Like him or hate him, according to Pro Wrestling Illustrated the wrestler of the year 2007 is WWE's John Cena. Even if his injury is one that does keep him away from the ring a long time, it seems that he has still done enough to make it to the top of the list. In case you want to know, the one that came second is also a professional wrestler in the WWE, Edge. The best wrestler in TNA was of course Kurt Angle, but he was only fourth in the official top of 2007. Also, just in case you are wondering, John Cena is expected to make his return in the ring around Wrestlemania and if he succeeds he will probably go directly after the title, just like Chris Jericho did in his return against Randy Orton. It will be interesting to see whether the WWE will put him as a winner when he goes back for the championship or not. Also, we need to see if he will still be fit but knowing Cena's determination, he will probably be better than ever.

Randy Orton Facts

Randy Orton's real name is Randal "Randy" Keith Orton and he was born on April 1 1980. He is currently wrestling for World Wrestling Entertainment on the RAW brand. Randy's family is no stranger to professional wrestling as he is a third generation wrestler. His Grandfather was Bob Orton Sr. and his father is famous wrestler "Cowboy" Bob Orton. Even his uncle, Barry O, was a professional wrestler. What is interesting is that Randy Orton is currently the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history and he was also an Intercontinental Champion and World Tag Team Champion. We also know him as the Legend Killer, due to his gimmick that consists of attacking legendary and star wrestlings, even outside of matches.

WWE wrestler Randy Orton is no stranger to controversy. He was accused in the past of harassing two fellow WWE employees in Rochelle Loewen and Amy Weber. It seems that this was the reason why Weber left from the entertainment company and Loewen was transferred to SmackDown. She was eventually released from her contract. There were mixed opinions in the media and it was Mark Jindrak that said the accusations were not true and that Orton apologized to Loewen at Royal Rumble 2005. Christy Hemme also stated that she does not believe Randy Orton harassed any of the two fellow employees. Sports Illustrated also included Orton on March 19, 2007 on a list of professional athletes that were using steroids. It was alleged that the wrestler bought different substances including testosterone, stanozolol, nandrolone, oxandrolone and others.

In case you were wondering, Randy Orton is married to Samantha Speno. The wedding took place on September 21 of 2007. If you take a close look at Randy, he has his wife's name tattooed on his right arm, together with others on his wrists, upper biceps and upper back finishing on his shoulders. He gets his tattoos touched up once per year. It is also interesting to know that he had a tattoo on his left arm saying USMC (United States Marine Corps), which he covered up after receiving a bad conduct discharge. Randy suffers from hypermobile shoulders and is a big fan of heavy metal bands Pantera and Metallica.

When it comes to wrestling signature moves and finishers, you probably do know that he uses the RKO (a jumping cutter), The Legend Killer (a running punt to the head of a kneeling opponent), the Super RKO, the Wheelbarrow suplex (used when he was wrestling in OVW), Overdrive (used in 2002), the Randy Orton Stomp, the Inverted headlock backbreaker, the knee drop, chinlock, European uppercut, body scissors, standing dropkick and that elevated DDT using the ring ropes as help.

In the past Randy Orton saw his wrestling career managed by his father, "Cowboy" Bob Orton and Ric Flair. You might have also seen him with the nickname The Iceman in OVW. Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels - Survivor Series 2007

One match that was pretty interesting at Survivor Series 2007 was between Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton for the WWE Heavyweight Championship. We were faced with "Special stipulations" that actually ment that Shawn Michaels was not allowed to use Sweet Chin Music while Randy Orton would lose the title if he got himself disqualified. With such stipulations I thought that the match would be very technical and that Shawn would lose and Orton would retain the title. I also thought this would be the end of the HBK vs Randy Orton rivalry. Shawn Michaels appeared to be looking for a submission ever since the start of the match. We also saw a lovely Springboard moonsault on the outside followed by a lovely cross body from the turnbuckle. Then came the sharpshooter, a move I have not seen Michaels execute in a long long time. Then came the elbow drop from the turnbuckle and then soon came the crossface, the one made famous by the late Chris Benoit as The Crippler Crossface. I did not expect that one at all although the sharpshooter was expected. The next submission move was even more unexpected as it was the ankle lock, the one made famous in professional wrestling by Ken Shamrock and Kurt Angle. We saw it being actually quite similar to Angle's ankle lock. Then came the end, Michaels wanting to go for Sweet Chin Music, hesitating and stops so that he would not get discualified and then came the RKO. Randy Orton won although the entire match saw Shawn Michaels being on top of Randy when it comes to wrestling skills. Great match and the heel won. But this was not the end. We did get to see Sweet Chin Music after the end of the match so in the fans' eyes the real winner was Shawn Michaels.

Survivor Series Update

Survivor Series is quickly coming round the corner for the WWE and it seems like their traditional match is going to be one that will put in a lot of wrestlers that were not fitted anywhere else, which is kind of weird. The traditional Survivor Series elimination wrestling match will see the team of Rey Mysterio, Kane, Triple H, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy fight against the team of Umaga, Big Daddy V, MVP, Mr. Kennedy and Finlay. So we basically get to see the feuds of Finlay vs Rey Mysterio, Matt Hardy vs MVP and Triple H vs Umaga continue while the rest are just extras. Still, a lot of talent and potential in this match. We are also going to see a WWE Title match that will see Randy Orton against Shawn Michales (as expected) and Batista vs The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell wrestling match for the World Heavyweight Title.

This basically means that we will get to see Shawn Michaels win the title now and maybe The Undertaker defeating Batista to get back the World Heavyweight Title although there is one big question coming up: where is Edge in these plans? Given how things stood before his injury it might be something concerning both The Undertaker and Batista so we might see him interfering in the match or maybe even getting add on the title match, thus maybe obtaining a 3-way Hell in a Cell Match. That would be special and could end up spectacular. Also, what in the world happens with Chris Jericho and what is with that Save.US commercial? Leaving all aside now, I want to see Edge wrestle again and let us hope it will be a nice pay per view, not like Cyber Sunday, which in my view was kind of like a fiasco except for the Batista vs Undertaker match and the Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton match (which still should have been better). I am also tired of Umaga vs Triple H. Get him in DX again or maybe in contendership spot or something. You are wasting him on the roster. After what Triple H had to endure at No Mercy he should get a prize of some sort!

Cyber Sunday updates

Well, we know have 6 matches to vote for when talking about the WWE's interactive pay-per-view. Besides the ones previously announced, we have three more that really need to be discussed. So, we have Triple H vs Umaga, again. We get to choose the type of match from First Blood, Street Fight or a Steel Cage Match. It will probably be a Street Fight wrestling match so I am curios to see if I am right on this. Triple H definitely needs to win this one after the incredible showing at No Mercy. Loosing to Umaga will not be tolerated by the WWE fans.

The second match sees Rey Mysterio vs Finlay, with the fans deciding the type of wrestling match again. This has been an interesting feud between the two, Rey Mysterio will probably win no matter what but I would love to see Finlay here. We get to choose from a stretcher match, a shillelagh on a pole match or a no disqualification match. After the No Mercy stunt by Finlay, maybe a stretcher match would be nice although I find it a stupid match type. My vote is for No Disqualification.

The last one is Matt Hardy vs MVP. We get to choose the type of match but this one is very interesting because we get to choose between a wrestling match, a boxing match or a mixed martial arts match. It is interesting to see that the WWE is bringing in such stipulation. A MMA match or a boxing match should end up causing a lot of damage to the opponent if we were to see it properly carried out. On the other hand, this is pro wrestling, this is entertainment so this will not happen. I am a fan of mixed martial arts though so my vote is in for that.

My personal most expected match will be Batista vs The Undertaker, Randy Orton vs Shawn Michales (if it is to happen) and a possibility of a spectacular match between CM Punk and Jon Morrison (if it is to happen again).

Demo for Smackdown vs Raw Released

The demo for the new WWE Smackdown vs Raw videogame was just released for XBox 360. We get to chose from 4 wrestlers to play: The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton. Those that want to play can chose from three venues: ECW, SmackDown and RAW and we only got to see two match types: Normal and Hardcore. Not much, but a good teaser. Unfortunately from the WWE, in my view, the TNA Impact videogame looks a lot better and should be more spectacular.

Shawn Michaels is Back

OK, so Shawn Michaels is back in the wrestling ring. There have been many rumors that he had to come back in November but yet, he seems to have been recalled earlier. Now we see him going after the guy that took him out, Randy Orton, which is conveniently enough the WWE Champion. OK, the WWE did good in dealing with John Cena's Injury, I have to give them that as the recent events give us many possible scenarios of how things are going to stand in the future. We might have a DX re-formation or we might see Shawn Michaels attacked by Umaga or we might see a good match that will bring The Legend Killer down or we might seem Triple H help Shawn Michaels without a re-formation of DX and we could get to see matches between Shawn Michaels and Triple H but that would mean choosing one as more of a face than the other one. Maybe Shawn Michaels will turn heel and will compete with Triple H as face. Who Knows? So many possibilities!

On the other hand, we might also see a re-formation of The Brothers of Destruction on Smackdown. They could start dominating the Tag Team titles and work towards challenging Batista. I would love to see The Undertaker as Tag Team Champion and the World Heavyweight Champion. We will have to wait and see what happens.

Cyber Sunday coming to WWE

Cyber Sunday is a very interesting pay per view for the WWE. We now have two matches to vote on and decide what will happen. The first one, and the one that is the most interesting so far stands in choosing Randy Orton's opponent for the WWE Championship. We can choose between Mr. Kennedy, Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michales. Mr. Kennedy is out of the picture in my view and Jeff Hardy is certainly popular enough to count although my personal pick stands in Shawn Michaels. The Heartbreak Kid could get some payback and since Triple H is not added to the options (although No Mercy could have made him a clear first pick opponent for a rematch) we might get to see Shawn Michaels becoming the new WWE Champion with a little help from Triple H, plus a re-formation of Degeneration X.

The second match on the Cyber Sunday pay per view announced will see CM Punk defend his ECW Championship against one of three possible opponents: Big Daddy V, The Miz and John Morrison. The Miz is not a popular and Big Daddy V is only valuable because of the size he has. John Morrison on the other hand has some skill but I find it personally disturbing that the WWE have chosen to make him look so much like the now deceased The Doors frontman, Jim Morrison. Even the physical resemblance is disturbing as we see the wrestler wearing those outfits, which in my mind bring dirt to the name of Jim Morrison. On the other hand, in my view, he is the one that should face CM Punk simply because the match between these two can be highly entertaining. Let us wait and see what happens.

Triple H. Vs Randy Orton Feud

No Mercy was trully spectacular when it comes to Randy Orton vs. Triple H but in my view, it was Triple H that really stepped up. No Mercy started very strangely with the appearance of Vince McMahon and the crowning of Randy Orton as the WWE Champion. I did not like that at all, I thought there was going to be a fluke match. Then the appearance of Triple H got things interesting. I thought that maybe there will be a surprise appearance by Shawn Michaels or soemthing. We got to see how good The Game is on the microphone and what he said in the speech against Mr. McMahon was hilarious. I laughed my head off. Then the first match started for the WWE Championship: Randy Orton vs Triple H. It was a pretty classic match, two attempts at finishers, a figure 4 leg lock, some classic Randy Orton moves and eventually a win by Triple H with a simple roll up. This means the 11th title for Triple H came at a time in which WWE needed something big for the championship.

On the other hand, Triple H was scheduled to face Umaga so it was no surprise that the match still went on and it was for the WWE Championship. Once again, it was clear that Triple H was going to win and the match would be a formality. It was great to see Triple H walking down the aisle with the belt around his waist though, I personally missed that as I am a Triple H fan. While the match was going on it was interesting to see a kid that sat at ring side. During the Randy Orton vs Triple H match he was really mad that Triple H won but during this second match he was cheering Triple H. The match was not bad. A great Black Hole Slam, classic Triple H spinebuster and the pedigree. Triple H won but it seemed as if his ribs got a lot of beating.

I thought all was nice and I did not expect to see a new match involving Triple H for the WWE Championship. Well, we still had Randy Orton vs Triple H in a Last Man Standing Match. Such a match is clear and everybody knew that it was going to be a match that will involve a lot of extra weapons. We had a chair, the ring steps, destroyd commentator tables and a finish that involved an RKO on the RAW commentator table. The Game got up at 11 but 10 was all that was needed so Randy Orton is the WWE Champion. Interesting night for both Triple H and for the WWE Championship. Orton gets the shortest rain as WWE Champion ever and Triple H brought a lot of fans to their feet. Great feud and hopefully we will see a new match between Orton and Triple H. As the things went at No Mercy, Triple H should win that one and become the 12 times WWE Champion.
